Messages from the Spirit World (122)

Sunday, January 4, 2009

There are many religions, but only one God. No religion is better or worse than the others; they all serve a main purpose which is to explain the system in terms that humans can understand. That you believe in GOD, in a HIGHER POWER, is what is important. Call Him what you will: Allah, God, Buddha, Christ, etc., they are all one in the same. What is in a name, anyway: (you know the rest of it) . . . God is God is God and by any other name would be as sweet.

Going to church is good for the soul, but do not despair if you do not go; it should be a pleasure, not an obligation. Remember, that the purpose for religions is to bring people closer to God; it is not the thing unto itself, only the vehicle. If you choose to commune with God on your own, so be it. If you choose to do it with a group, so be it, too. He makes no distinction between the religious and non-religious; but rather, is more concerned with what is in a person's heart.

To be fully human is to be god-like. This is something that many religions do not understand. We are all children of God, and therefore, are a part of God himself. We have the power to do all that we set our minds to, and then some. God loves us. God wants us to be happy and fulfilled.

Will the Lord ever let you down? Never. You can choose to follow any religion, or not, it does not matter in the end. What matters is how you lived your life. How you accepted your challenges and conquered your fears. How you sat still in the face of darkness and embraced the loving light of others. How you accepted your fate as a changeable force and how you helped others to change according to their plan. How you loved, unconditionally, and how you helped others to do the same.
